BAVA Vedic Astrology Course 2022 for Beginners
Dates: The next online course for beginners will run from 27th September 2022 on Tuesday evenings until 13th December 2022.
Tutors: Gordon Brennan and Andrew Foss. The course is open to all.
Fee: Course fee £150 per term of 12 weeks.
Venue: Online via Zoom
Time: 7.00pm-8.30pm (UK time)
The Beginners Course has three modules and each module takes 12 weeks. There will be a break of one week in a 12 week term, so there will be 11 lessons in one term or 33 in one year.
No prior knowledge of astrology is required for the beginner’s course. Those with experience of modern Western astrology are also welcome and will find this knowledge of value in deepening their understanding of astrology. There are a small number of recommended books for the course. These will be available on mail-order from the UK if they are not available locally. Advice on studies is available from Gordon Brennan.
The course syllabus will cover all of the basics of Vedic Astrology in the first two terms. This will include an introduction to Indian Mythology and Philosophy as well as an explanation of the main Sanskrit terms used and basic astronomy, which includes how to calculate a birth chart. The third term concentrates on the ability to read charts and less on acquiring new techniques.
Vedic Astrology is a very large subject and the student needs to become familiar with its concepts in order to make good progress. There may seem to be quite a lot to learn initially, but as long as the principles are understood this will not be difficult. We use a lot of practical examples, so that the principles can be easily understood.
BAVA courses are structured to lead to recognised qualifications in Vedic Astrology.
