Sula refers to the weapon of Kartikeya (Mars deity) or of Rudra (Ketu deity). This dasa uses 108 navamsa pada giving a longevity of 108 years to 12 signs i.e. 9 years per sign. Based on the average gestation period of 9 months = 1 antardasa. Let us examine how the Sula moves from the head to the foot.

A Keiko Ito: Star light, Star bright, why can’t I sleep tonight?
Sleep is one of the most regenerative activities a body does to recuperate from our daily life, yet we experience – all the time for some, occasionally for others – lack of restful sleep. Sleep disorders are not limited to insomnia alone, it can also be sleep apnea, narcolepsy, sleepwalking, etc. We will look into any signature in those sleep disorders and transit patterns that can trigger them.
B Vijaya Subramanian: Recognising problem combinations of Moon at Birth, their negation and remedies.
Horoscopes with an afflicted moon in dangerous combinations are called Rishta that can shorten life to below 24. Sage Parasara extensively discusses this in Chapter 12 of BHPS. The talk aims to highlight some of these combinations and also point out to remedies and the grace we can seek from benefic aspects and grahas.

In this class, we will be learning different aspects of the healing and health mantras from all four Vedas and understanding them from the Vedic point of view. Learn how to use them

A study of the nervous system, the majja dhatu, governed by Mars. How to identify Paralysis in the body, its affected limbs, whether it is temporal or permanent as well as its timing.

B: Geoffrey Pearce: Jupiter/Saturn Conjunction Cycle, and December 2020 Event
On 21st December 2020, Jupiter and Saturn will be conjunct at 6 degrees 21 minutes, Capricorn in Uttara Ashadha, when Jupiter will be close to its maximum point of debilitation for the first time in nearly 900 years. These planets come together every 20 years, and their house and nakshatra placements affect mankind’s ideas that produce the main events over the next two decades. In this talk, a description of this cycle will be given, together with an explanation of how to interpret conjunction charts, and a forecast of the issues likely to arise from 2020 Graha Yuddha.

B Gordon Brennan: What is the 6th House really about?
This lecture will present the results of an in-depth study of the 6th house. Who rules the 6th house? In the original scheme of houses counted from Aries how can Mercury be the ruler of such matters as enemies, sins, hard work and disease? We will look at important Karakas, Arudhas, Bhavat Bhavam, Shadripus (enemies), and especially what the 6th house shows about health and disease.

Moon Lagna Chart (systemic circuit of circulatory system) is the blood delivery mechanism through arteries and veins to different body parts that can get afflicted by ‘graha markers’ showing a flaw in the system. This is a powerful key to understanding health and weakness.

The talk will explore how ‘dusthana’ bhavas manifest in ill health; how these can be remedied and who makes a good doctor to treat illness

A Visti Larsen: Skeletal system.
How to identify the bones in the body, their pre-disposition from birth, their growth with time as well as the possibility of injury, before or after birth. A focus on identifying which limbs and bones are assigned to which houses from the Sun and Lagna for examining the state of the skeletal system.
B Kartik Gor: Health from Jala Lagna (4th house)
The Soul sitting in hrd chakra near anahata is in the 4th house. Affliction causes the soul to want to leave, bringing disease. We shall study khara and kharesh as these have the reverse energy of Rakha meaning protection.

There are 11 major organ systems in the human body, which include the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, excretory, nervous, endocrine, immune, integumentary, skeletal, muscular and reproductive systems.
Of these, seven principal systems are envisaged in jyotisa-body paradigm. Let us study these.
- Sun: skeletal system,
- Moon: circulatory system,
- Mars: nervous system
- Mercury: integumentary system
- Jupiter: digestive system
- Venus: reproductive system
- Saturn: muscular system
The other systems include –
- Rahu: urinary or excretory system
- Ketu: immune system
- Lagna: endocrine system
- Pranapada: respiratory system.
Monday 20th April
2:00 – 5:00 pm Andrew Foss: How to Rapidly Assess Health in a Chart and Time Major Events
Ayurveda describes balance and imbalance in the constitution. This can also be done using Jyotish and together they can help us avoid suffering from avoidable illness and other difficulties. This workshop explores special techniques for rapidly assessing a chart and timing major issues, both health and other matters using Dashas and special Vargas. Learn new approaches and improve your analysis.
Tuesday 21st April
2:00 – 5:00 pm Komilla Sutton: The Role of Gulika, Badhaka, Dagdha Rashi etc in Health
Komilla examines all the difficult yet not often taken into health analysis. Gulika it’s Rashi and nakshatra lord Pramana Gulika, their dasha and transits. Dagdha Rashi if it is lagna lord impacts the physical immunity. When the negative potential of the chart is judged we study The lords of 64 navamsha and 22 Drekanna are studied. Finally Komilla will discuss Vinasha nakshatra and health. What to see, how to analyze and can we do any remedies for these.
